Reduce Sugar Intake Fast If Not Want wrinkled.

You must have heard that eating too much sugar will result in weight gain. But scholars and researchers found that consuming sugar can cause wrinkles and dull skin.

That said, the natural processes that lead to these conditions is a process called glycation. It is a condition when blood flow is bound to proteins to create harmful molecules called advanced glycation and end products (AGEs). The more sugar you asup, the more your body to create AGEs.

"The more AGEs accumulate, they damage the proteins needed by the domino effect," says Fredric Brandt, MD, dermatologist and author of 10 Minutes 10 Years. Most susceptible to damage caused by this process are collagen and elastin, the protein fibers that keep skin firm and elastic. In fact, collagen is the most prevalent protein in the body. Once damaged, the collagen and elastin which should be dry and chewy will be damaged, creating wrinkles and flabby skin. These aging effects start around the age of 35 years, and increases very rapidly with age. This was reported by the British Journal of Dermatology.

Besides damaging collagen, excessive sugar consumption will also affect collagen type what you have. Most of the skin is collagen type I, II, and III. Type III is the most stable and durable. Glycation changes the type III to type I, which is the type most vulnerable. When this happens, the skin will feel soft, not chewy anymore. In addition more, AGEs deactivate your body's natural antioxidant enzymes, so make your skin more vulnerable to damage when exposed to sunlight exposure, which is the main cause of skin aging.

So, try to reduce intake of sugar if you do not want your skin look older faster.
